Pope Francis has made a heartfelt plea for peace in Ukraine, appealing to the consciences of “those with political responsibility” and “all the parties involved” to refrain from causing further suffering to the people, "destabilizing coexistence between nations and bringing international law into disrepute.” He has asked “believers and nonbelievers alike” to make Ash Wednesday “a day of prayer and fasting for peace.”
We share the distress of Pope Francis and pray in solidarity with all who seek and strive for peace and justice for our sisters and brothers in Ukraine.
