His Wounded Side

Hail, the wound in the side
of our Savior,
from which rushed a spring
and fount of blood.
Medicine for the sorrow
of those who suffer;
And healing for
the wound of sin and error.
Hail, the wound in the side,
wide and fruitful.
Wash and cleanse thoroughly
all our sins...
in the sight of God
may our hearts rejoice. Amen.
